Series Story
The Cat Goddess and many of her feline friends (Calico, Black, White, and Persian) have been reborn into the real world and are living happily with the previous festival’s chosen one… Now the Siamese has taken up the title of Cat Goddess, and the Festival of Nine Souls has been abolished. The Nekomeikan exists now as a place where travelers between this world and the next, including gods, can go for some rest and relaxation. There are also humans there who passed on before their time (via suicide or an accident).
The protagonist of the New NECOGURASHI series is unrelated to the main character from the previous seasons, as are many of the catgirls. Currently, the Siamese is seeking to find souls who have the aptitude to work at the Nekomeikan. There are even catgirls like the American Shorthair (now the chief catgirl) who are descended from the gods… Everyone lives together at the inn in harmony.
Can you hear the sounds of the catgirls’ bells?

Editorial Review
NECOGURASHI positions itself squarely in the narrative-heavy ASMR space where plot scaffolding justifies extended soundscape sessions. It’s competing in a crowded market of character-driven relaxation works, but the addition of serialized storytelling across multiple “seasons” gives it an arc-based structure rare among voice ASMR productions that typically treat scenarios as standalone encounters.
What distinguishes this complete set is the sheer breadth of trigger variety paired with continuity. The synopsis hints at an actual story progression—moving from a mysterious festival framework into a post-season epilogue where you return as an established regular—suggesting the developers prioritized narrative coherence alongside traditional ASMR beats. The trigger menu is exhaustive: ear cleaning and oil massage anchor the familiar therapeutic core, but ambient naturalism (cicadas, wind chimes, carbonation) and character-specific details (catgirl sighs, cat toy sounds) indicate attention to both immersive soundscaping and character personality differentiation. This layered approach suggests competent production that doesn’t rely on any single trigger to carry the experience.
The premise of visiting “after the festival”—essentially a post-story slice-of-life segment—targets listeners who value character investment and continuity over isolated scenario consumption. You’re expected to have emotional attachment to these catgirls already, or at minimum to appreciate narrative payoff beyond immediate relaxation.
The cumulative scope (positioned as a “complete set” with hours of content) positions this for longtime fans seeking comprehensive coverage rather than casual ASMR samplers. If you’re hunting for a substantial, character-forward ASMR experience with legitimately varied trigger work and genuine narrative threading, this delivers the genre’s sweet spot: relaxation that actually rewards repeated engagement.
