Synopsis

Masaki Kamijou is a graduate student studying archaeology in a provincial city. With his job already secured, he’s simply waiting to graduate. When summer break arrives, his uncle and aunt—whom he was once close to—invite him to visit their rural village. However, upon arrival, his uncle is nowhere to be found. Instead, a maid greets him with an explanation: his uncle, who serves as acting village chief and head of the municipal office, has been called away on urgent business overseas. As a substitute, he’s asked Masaki to help manage village affairs during his absence.

Caught off guard but intrigued by a small archaeological site nearby that he’s free to excavate, Masaki agrees to stay through summer break. While major responsibilities are minimal, he finds himself busy with various requests and chores from villagers. Despite this, he enjoys deepening his connections with them and exploring the ruins in his spare time.

Yet beneath this pleasant routine, Masaki harbors a growing concern: he’s been plagued by strange dreams each night. In them, he engages in explicit acts with the women he’s met in the village, sometimes approached by them, sometimes taking the initiative himself. These dreams feel utterly unlike him—so much so that he begins to question: are they truly just dreams?
