Exorcist Oda Ayato, employed by a government agency, is assigned to investigate and destroy a cursed object called the “Unclean Crimson Frown” brought to Kumo Academy, a school that teaches sword mastery. Working with teammates Tsukitachibana Himeme and Shirakumo Ruri, Ayato discovers that Kazamine Marika, a young lady and executive of the Sword Bearing Self-Defense Association, possesses the cursed object. Though they successfully destroy it, Marika becomes a focal point for spiritual disturbances. “No matter what happens, I want to stand by your side…” To teach her how to combat spiritual afflictions, Ayato enters a temporary master-student relationship with Marika. A winter romance unfolds as Ayato and his heroines overcome the supernatural anomalies plaguing their near-future world.
