Synopsis

The protagonist is a god of paizuri residing in the underworld. However, with no one creating statues in their honor or wearing miniature pendants bearing their likeness, their divine rank remains disappointingly low. They dream of raising their status to court Athena, the well-endowed goddess of the heavenly realm, but such aspirations seem distant.

One fateful day, after a playful sword-fighting game with their close friend Pharaoh the Reaper, the protagonist accidentally strikes a strange rock protrusion and is cast down to the mortal realm. They awaken immobilized in a forest near Kadis Village in Gernia, a remote province of the Romania Empire. To escape, they need someone to create a statue in their honor—this would grant them power and freedom. However, no humans are around. Moreover, as a deity, the protagonist cannot introduce themselves by name, for gods are bound by the rule that they cannot speak their own names aloud.

While groaning in frustration, a group of men from the Nyuu tribe approaches. When the protagonist calls out, they shriek “A demon?!” and flee. Although the Romania Empire has no concept of demons, the Nyuu tribe’s religion does. The men return with intent to exorcise what they believe to be a demon, but before they can act, a woman with serpent-like hair emerges from the forest. Several villagers turn to stone and scatter in panic. “Could she be… Medusa?”

The Nyuu tribesmen argue fiercely—some insist they need help defeating the monster regardless of whether the protagonist is truly a demon. Eventually, the supporters prevail and create a statue as an offering. The protagonist gains enough power to escape. “Demon lord, please defeat the monster in the forest,” they plead. The protagonist, bound by their own statue, now faces the mysterious woman.
