Synopsis
ANIPLEX.EXE’s third visual novel project launches with an original story spanning multiple timelines. Developed by Kazuki, creator of the acclaimed “Country Series,” with music by Moeki Harada, character design by popman3580, and direction by Yow, this narrative-driven adventure follows Misuzu, who meets her 16-year-old mother Yoko traveling from 1996. Together with Misuzu’s daughter Tsumugi and the mysterious guide Hiruko, they journey through the poetic lands of “Tokoyo” to participate in an ancient ritual. This linear visual novel without choices presents a single, predetermined ending as these time-crossed characters face the approaching “true winter” and discover their shared destiny across generations.

Editorial Review
Seedsow Lullaby sits in the kinetic novel corner of the voiced adventure space, a format that has become a quiet counterweight to branching, route-collecting visual novels. It belongs to a brand-driven wave of polished, studio-backed novel games that put production values and a single authored vision ahead of player agency.
The most striking choice is the structure: no choices, no branches, just one ending that the protagonists strive toward. That suits a premise built on inevitability. Misuzu, who lost her mother young, is visited at sixteen by her own mother Yoko, also sixteen, who has traveled from 1996 to recruit her for the “taneutsumi” ritual, essentially a funeral for immortal gods so a new era can begin. The party grows to include Misuzu’s future daughter Tsumugi and Hiruko, a guide claiming to be her brother, so the story is a road trip across three generations through what the synopsis calls poetic, winter-struck lands. Full voice acting and a dedicated music credit support the lyrical tone, and the pairing of two character designers with a scenario writer known for a connected series of “country” stories signals a deliberate, atmospheric world. Note the content warning for depictions of flooding, which hints at a story willing to be somber.
Readers who value mood, melancholy, and mother-daughter bonds over fan service or mechanical interactivity will get the most from it, especially those who enjoy time-slip premises and mythic, elegiac fantasy. With Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese support, it is also easy to share with international friends.
Verdict: a tightly directed, tearful farewell to the old gods that trades choice for conviction, and it is likely to reward anyone who wants to be carried rather than steer.
