Ys Origin

Synopsis

Set 700 years in the past during the twilight of the ancient Kingdom of Ys, this game unveils the legendary secrets of a forgotten era. Once a thriving utopia guided by twin goddesses and six priests, Ys prospered under the blessing of the Black Pearl. However, when countless demons invaded the land, the goddesses were forced to elevate their temple into the sky. A massive tower then emerged, bringing renewed devastation. In a shocking turn, the twin goddesses mysteriously vanished, prompting the six priests to send elite knights and sorcerers to the darkened surface to find them.

Unlike previous titles, players now control two protagonists: Unica, a novice knight wielding an axe, and Hugo, a brilliant mage with long-range abilities from the start. Each character offers distinct combat strategies and separate story paths. As players progress, both heroes unlock unique skills for combat and dungeon exploration, enabling diverse tactical approaches and deeper insights into the mysteries of Ys.
