Synopsis
“I’ll become your ideal lover. So please, give me just one more chance.”
Those words bring forth a mysterious being wearing the face of Chise Kawamoto—the emotionally unstable girlfriend Yohito Takenouchi broke up with yesterday. Yet this is something else entirely.
Calling herself Kageko, her true nature is that of a Shapeshifter—a shadow creature that absorbs other lifeforms and mimics them to blend into society.
While Kageko has assimilated Chise, she keeps her intact within her body rather than consuming her completely. She makes a proposal: she wants to experience being his girlfriend for a limited time, and if he agrees, she will safely release Chise unharmed.
What begins as a contractual relationship gradually transforms into something genuine. Through his time with Kageko, the exhausted Yohito finds his heart healing and rediscovers the joy of loving another. Yet this very closeness brings an unavoidable reckoning—the truth that the woman before him is not human, but an inhuman existence bound by alien logic.
And beneath it all lie the bitter-sweet memories that make Yohito who he is.
