Cerika Silphyl, bearing the body of a goddess since the “Godslaying,” has been hunted by all gods and nations for her sins until she could secure an alliance with the “Water Priestess,” guardian deity of the Levionia Theocracy. She has slain countless assassins in her flight.
At the Battle of Dunehr, called the great war that threatened Levionia’s very existence, Cerika defeated the evil dragon Arakeel. Yet she lost nearly all her divine power, becoming as weak as an ordinary knight, and her soul began to fade as her body approached that of a mortal woman.
Before her wounds could even heal, the Water Priestess tasks her with traveling to the Lern region to investigate the disappearance of the Levionian princess from eighteen years prior.
Following the advance Levionian knights to Lern, Cerika discovers a region harboring a massive labyrinth unlike anything expected in such a frontier. Together with her destined companions, the godslayer must unravel hidden truths and reclaim her lost power…
Editorial Review
The Scales of La DEA positions itself within the increasingly crowded intersection of tactical RPG mechanics and narrative-heavy visual novels, territories that have seen substantial refinement over the past decade. Where it distinguishes itself is through the marriage of its battle system with what appears to be a genuinely ambitious mythological framework—the premise of a goddess stripped of divinity and forced into mortal vulnerability is narratively fertile ground that most harem-oriented works sidestep entirely.
The specific combination of “Strong Worldbuilding” with “Battle System” suggests this isn’t a visual novel that treats combat as window dressing; the Lern investigation narrative hangs on a tangible military and political infrastructure. The protagonist’s transformation from hunted divine being to weakened investigator creates natural dramatic tension that the harem tag doesn’t immediately dilute—the romance dynamics emerge from genuine power asymmetry and narrative interdependence rather than collection mechanics. The Beautiful CG tag, paired with the fantasy setting and goddess mythology, indicates production values concentrated on character presentation and environmental atmosphere, which matters considerably when your lead character is defined by her literal loss of otherworldly presence.
This appeals most directly to players who want their tactical systems genuinely integrated with character progression and romantic development, rather than bolted on as mechanical distraction. If you’ve found recent battle-heavy visual novels too combat-focused or standard harem titles too narratively hollow, the goddess-becoming-mortal framework here offers genuine thematic coherence.
The synopsis’s incomplete cut-off is unfortunate for assessment, but the existing premise—a deity investigating regional mysteries while dependent on allies for survival—suggests a work that understands how to use mechanical vulnerability to drive both emotional stakes and relationship development. Worth the investment for players who value worldbuilding rigor alongside intimate character work.
