THE CHiRAL NIGHT Rhythm Carnival [All Ages]

Editorial Review

★3.2 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

A rhythm action game crossover celebrating NITRO CHiRAL’s visual novel catalog—this is a rare instance of a doujin publisher leveraging its IP portfolio for a rhythm-based release rather than pursuing traditional narrative extensions. The game reconstructs a 2016 live event into interactive gameplay, positioning itself as both retrospective and functional entertainment. The “all ages” designation is crucial here: this strips away the adult content that defined these four source VNs, refocusing the appeal entirely on music, character recognition, and crossover curiosity.

What distinguishes this release is its commitment to supplementary materials alongside the rhythm mechanics. The fully voiced drama segments and archival live performance footage elevate it beyond a bare-bones rhythm game—it’s positioned as a preservation of a specific moment in NITRO CHiRAL’s history. The inclusion of twenty songs spanning four distinct titles (‘Togainu no Blood’, ‘Lamento -BEYOND THE VOID-‘, ‘sweet pool’, ‘DRAMAtical Murder’) provides reasonable content depth for the format. The Windows 11 compatibility update signals ongoing maintenance, though the core game content remains unaltered since the 2017 packaged release.

The primary appeal targets existing NITRO CHiRAL fans seeking supplementary engagement with beloved soundtracks and character associations, particularly those who experienced the original 2016 live event or have developed attachment to these franchises over years of fandom. The crossover element itself generates novelty value across the four properties’ narratives and casts.

A competent rhythm action title that functions primarily as celebratory fan service rather than a standalone rhythm game innovation. If you’re already invested in NITRO CHiRAL’s worlds, the combination of live footage, drama content, and multi-franchise song compilation justifies the purchase; otherwise, the rhythm mechanics alone don’t position this as essential genre material.
