Soft ‘n’ Squishy Lady Patchouli

Editorial Review

★3.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

This is a curveball for the adult manga category—COOL&CREATE’s offering sits squarely in the Touhou doujin music and voice drama space rather than illustrated erotica, though it carries the R18 tag. It’s a multimedia package anchored by Marine Houshou (a VTuber talent) performing original vocal arrangements and comedy skits centered on Touhou Project characters, with production values that genuinely rival commercial releases.

What distinguishes this from standard doujin music compilations is its hybrid multimedia approach. The package combines approximately 40 minutes of voice drama with six arranged tracks, all featuring recognizable VTuber vocals and professional-grade instrumentation courtesy of IOSYS veterans like BeatMARIO and Maron. The R18 framing leans toward comedic irreverence and adult humor rather than explicit content—this is bawdy, tongue-in-cheek entertainment built on the chemistry between Marine’s unfiltered personality and established Touhou fan-favorite characters. The “Soft ‘n’ Squishy Lady Patchouli” framing suggests ribald character recontextualizations typical of rowdy doujin circles pushing creative boundaries within the fan-work ecosystem.

COOL&CREATE’s pedigree matters here: these aren’t amateur producers but seasoned arrangers with two decades of Touhou doujin music credibility, lending genuine compositional sophistication to what could easily be novelty content. The inclusion of a DLsite Official Translation flags professional localization support, a rarity for niche voice drama work.

This appeals specifically to Touhou fans with VTuber crossover interest and listeners who prioritize personality-driven voice work and absurdist humor over traditional adult manga gratification. The package’s value hinges entirely on enthusiasm for Marine Houshou’s comedic timing and appreciation for high-effort doujin music production.

A charmingly unhinged multimedia package that rewards fans of both Touhou culture and irreverent VTuber personality.
