Side-scrolling action is one of the more crowded corners of the adult game space, and most entries lean on a thin combat layer that exists only to deliver scenes. THEIR HAPPIEST HOUR sits in that tradition as an early access build, but its mechanics are more developed than the genre norm. A futanari protagonist, an all-female cast, and a lighthearted “flirty-dirty” tone place it in a niche that rarely gets this much systems design.

The control scheme shows the ambition. Beyond movement and jump, you get a hold-to-charge attack, a special attack, a clutch input, and a hold-to-recover-health button, which suggests combat with some resource management rather than simple button mashing. The structure is split in two: a town stage where you talk to characters to trigger event scenes, and a game stage where you beat enemy characters on the way to the goal. That hub-and-stage loop gives the adult content a rhythm, and it makes the scenes feel like a reward for play. The Animation tag is the draw, with ten animations, four of them event scenes, plus a mid-scene control that changes animation size, which gives you hands-on interaction rather than passive viewing. The Music tag and the DLsite Official Translation with its Recommended badge mean the English version is a polished release.

The caveat is scope: one playable stage and two clothing patterns is a slim offering, and the trial disables Gallery Mode. Treat it as an investment in a work in progress.

Fans of action-driven adult games who want futanari content with a playful tone, and who don’t mind early access, will get the most out of it.

Verdict: a promising, mechanically ambitious early build that rewards players who like to play for their scenes.
