Amid a crowded field of lighter, fan-service-oriented RPGs, its stated intent is to be a “brutal RPG,” and the synopsis is blunt about how extreme it gets, including non-consensual themes, trafficking, violence, monster content, and body mutilation as a terminal fate. Anyone sensitive to those themes should treat this as a firm warning, not a teaser.
What distinguishes it is the stakes-based structure. The setup is a desperate wartime assassination mission: Flarance, losing ground to magical invasion, calls on the kingdom of Zipang for a task force aimed at killing the Dobui king. That gives the combat a “failure is not an option” tension that many genre entries lack.
