MANIFEST eXXXtra #2

Editorial Review

★2.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

MANIFEST eXXXtra #2 positions itself as a supplement to the MANIFEST comic franchise—a visual anthology rather than a narrative work, banking on existing character recognition and the appeal of accumulated production across a defined period. This approach is common among doujin creators working with licensed or semi-licensed IP, though it relies entirely on whether the source material’s fanbase will follow into explicit territory.

The work’s primary distinction is sheer volume. At over 100 images sourced from 2017-2018, this functions as a retrospective of Tessa Theus in various states of undress across a concentrated two-year window. The CG and illustration format mix suggests inconsistent rendering approaches—likely blending computer-generated base work with hand-drawn detail work, a production choice that can either enhance variety or create tonal fragmentation depending on execution. The JPEG delivery and English tagging indicate this was produced for an international audience, with no apparent localization barrier.

The absence of narrative structure is both limitation and clarity. Buyers know exactly what they’re getting: a visual catalog rather than a story-driven experience. This removes plot as a draw entirely, making the work succeed or fail on the basis of character appeal, artistic consistency, and image variety alone. For those already invested in Tessa’s design and the MANIFEST universe, the sheer quantity of material across two years of production might justify the purchase as a comprehensive archive. For newcomers, there’s minimal on-ramp.

Collectors of MANIFEST franchise content and fans seeking high-volume visual archives of a specific character will find functional value here. General adult manga readers without prior investment in the source material should look elsewhere for works that integrate character and narrative appeal.

A substantial but context-dependent collection with clear appeal only to the existing fanbase.
