Synopsis
This is an alternate story based on our previous commercial release.
Created with the premise: “What if someone had formed a bond before that incident occurred…”
While our previous work explored the theme of sudden, mad love, this installment focuses on the theme of accepting and receiving love.
For this series, we plan to release each character as a separate playable route so you can pursue your favorite character. Each route functions as its own short story.
This work is also on the shorter side, and since it was created solely by Whitepaper, we ask for your understanding.
I worked on this entirely alone, and while yearning for teammates and collaborators, I poured all my resentment and frustration into this piece… Please support me by purchasing this work full of such feelings! (tears)
This game was created using the free software Tyrano Builder. While we’ve only confirmed operation on Windows 10, since it uses Tyrano Builder, it should run on any environment where Tyrano Builder functions properly. However, we make no guarantees regarding operation.
Editorial Review
Weapon and Madness ~Our Appetizer with You~ Kirishima Route positions itself as a redemptive alternate-universe spin-off within the visual novel space—a character-driven route expansion that deliberately recontextualizes the predecessor’s “mad love” premise into something more grounded and emotionally reciprocal. This approach mirrors the current trend of commercial VN franchises using shorter, route-specific releases to deepen character investment without committing to a full sequel.
What distinguishes this entry is its explicit thematic pivot: where the original work explored sudden, uncontrollable attraction, this Kirishima route zeroes in on mutual acceptance and the vulnerability of *receiving* love rather than being consumed by it. The dark tag paired with romance and young adult framing suggests a work that maintains psychological tension while softening toward tenderness—a difficult tonal balance that separates this from straightforward dating sim territory. The alternate-story framing lets it exist as both a continuation and a standalone piece, lowering the barrier for newcomers while rewarding original fans with new emotional dimensions of familiar characters.
The solo-developer origin story embedded in the synopsis—work poured out in isolation, yearning for creative collaboration—lends unexpected meta-textual weight. This is a work built from frustration and longing, which thematically echoes its premise about accepting love. The Tyrano Builder framework is pragmatic rather than ambitious, prioritizing narrative accessibility over visual spectacle, which works if the writing carries sufficient psychological depth.
This appeals most to readers seeking character-intimate VNs with darker psychological undercurrents who value emotional vulnerability and aren’t demanding AAA production polish. The short length and single-route structure position it as a focused character study rather than sprawling romance epic.
A compact exploration of reciprocal love’s weight—intimate and melancholic, best approached as introspective character study rather than spectacle.
