Synopsis
You take on the role of Gochoku, a specialist in exterminating supernatural creatures. As the seals weaken and demons escape, you must defeat the spiritual corruptions that manifest from their malevolent auras.
Gameplay involves flipping panels to locate and vanquish corruptions. Each defeat grants experience points that can be used to strengthen yourself at the shrine. There, a healing shrine maiden named Shizuka tends to your wounds.
During your exploration, you can discover medicinal herbs. Continuously defeating the same corruption allows you to perform combo attacks, though at the cost of stamina.
This game is developed using LiveMaker and runs on Windows 7/8/10.
Update 1.01: Fixed text issues and updated OS compatibility.
Editorial Review
Demon Sealing Tales occupies the crowded intersection of turn-based dungeon crawler and erotic visual novel, a space that has seen considerable saturation in recent years. What distinguishes it is less ambitious narrative scope than mechanical specificity: the panel-flipping core loop for encounter design sits comfortably between puzzle-lite engagement and traditional RPG systems.
The work leans into a deliberately modest production philosophy. The turn-based gameplay tied to stamina management and combo progression through repeated encounters suggests intentional pacing control rather than complexity for its own sake. The shrine maiden dynamic with Shizuka provides the narrative anchor—a functional character relationship that justifies regular returns to a central hub, a design choice that keeps the structure lean. The emphasis on medicinal herb collection and incremental stat building appeals to players who find satisfaction in progression systems rather than narrative branching. That this is built in LiveMaker, a visual novel engine not typically known for elaborate combat systems, indicates the developers understood their constraints and worked within them rather than overextending.
The Japanese fantasy framing with demon exorcism and shrine aesthetics suggests aesthetic coherence across mechanical and erotic elements, though the synopsis doesn’t elaborate on how the narrative integrates adult content into progression loops—a critical detail in determining whether sex functions as reward, narrative beat, or something more structural.
This will resonate most strongly with players who want straightforward dungeon progression mechanics paired with shrine maiden romance elements, without demanding narrative complexity or extensive character development. The Windows 7/8/10 compatibility and modest scope indicate accessibility-first design.
A competent execution of familiar mechanics that respects player time investment. Not innovative, but functionally sound within its narrow scope.
