Welcome to the Town of Beginnings [Shimerike]

Editorial Review

★3.7 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

Welcome to the Town of Beginnings occupies an increasingly crowded niche: the post-adventure slice-of-life visual novel designed as much for CG collection as narrative engagement. It’s a pragmatic hybrid approach that’s become standard for mid-tier doujin romance works, especially those leaning heavily into character-focused rather than plot-driven content.

The work’s distinctive appeal hinges on tonal consistency and character archetype layering. By anchoring the story around a war-weary protagonist returning home, it establishes a thematic justification for the lovey-dovey pacing—the central tension isn’t plot momentum but emotional decompression. The tag combination of futanari, ojou-sama, older sister, and female doctor across what appears to be multiple routes suggests deliberate archetype variety rather than a single dominant character dynamic. The omorashi tag indicates willingness to explore specific fetish content, though the synopsis emphasizes romance-first positioning, which means niche interests serve the relationship development rather than dominating it. Big breasts and thigh-highs are aesthetic commitments reflected in CG priorities.

The structural transparency—explicit acknowledgment of “no complex choices” and promise of quick progression to H-scenes—indicates confident targeting. This isn’t attempting to disguise itself as a deep visual novel; it’s a romance experience organized around intimate character moments and artistic payoff. The dedicated CG collection separate from the game executable shows production awareness about usage patterns, suggesting the developers understand their audience wants gallery browsing flexibility.

This lands squarely for players seeking relationship-focused adult content without branching narrative complexity, who prioritize consistent character chemistry and varied archetypes over plot intrigue. The lovey-dovey framing appeals specifically to romance-first adult game readers rather than fetish-prioritizers, even as it accommodates niche preferences within that framework.

A straightforward execution of a specific appeal: dependable romance-first content with solid archetype coverage and transparent accessibility.
