Synopsis
Two disciples of an amateur Taoist, Miyoku and Reiyue, set out to locate seven missing Taoists.
They venture to the seven Taoists’ residence, donning qipao as they battle against supernatural creatures like jiangshi and other yokai in this Chinese-style action game.
※For those who struggle with action games, we’ve included a data pack with all CG gallery and memory unlock features.
Editorial Review
Taoist positions itself as a niche hybrid that merges Chinese supernatural lore with action-game mechanics and adult content—a combination rarely executed in the doujin space. The deliberate choice to ground the narrative in authentic Taoist aesthetics (qipao costumes, jiangshi encounters, yokai adversaries) rather than leaning on generic fantasy tropes suggests a creator committed to cultural specificity alongside erotic appeal.
The work’s most distinctive feature is its stated action-game framework. Rather than defaulting to visual novel or turn-based combat convention, the developers have committed to real-time or skill-based gameplay that directly gates progression. This design choice carries risk; poorly-implemented action mechanics can derail adult games entirely. However, the inclusion of a data pack that unlocks all CG and memory features for players who struggle with action components reveals developer awareness of their audience’s likely priorities—a pragmatic acknowledgment that accessibility matters more than gatekeeping difficulty. This dual-path approach is increasingly common in quality doujin releases but still executed inconsistently.
The tag combination of creampie and tentacles with occult themes suggests the sexual content leans into creature-focused scenarios rather than human-on-human dynamics. Given the jiangshi and yokai narrative framework, this thematic alignment feels intentional rather than generic.
The work’s appeal concentrates on players who want genuine action-game engagement wrapped in erotically-charged supernatural atmosphere, specifically those drawn to East Asian mythological aesthetics. If you’re primarily seeking adult content with action elements as afterthought, the mechanical requirements may frustrate. If you’re an action-game player seeking adult-oriented material with substantive gameplay depth, this warrants serious consideration.
For players willing to engage mechanically with their erotica while appreciating detailed supernatural worldbuilding, Taoist delivers a genuinely uncommon package in the adult game landscape.
