Every year Kyoshiro went out to stay with his cousin in the countryside.

This year his sister couldn’t come due to work obligations. She tearfully saw

At the house Kyoshiro drank some refreshing cool barley tea

and relaxed from his tiring journey, when soon that boisterous voice broke the air.

Ai: “What! He’s here already!”

She was home. Ai’s noisy clomping feet preceded her, in typical fashion.

She threw open the shoji door so it smacked hard against the frame and embraced him with similar force.

Ai: “Kyoshiro-oniichan, it’s been so long! How are ya!”

Kyoshiro: “Goooood, I’m good…….?”

I felt something soft between us.
