    Synopsis

    ~STORY~

The protagonist, Aketo Ichimatsu, possesses an ability unlike any other—the power of “eavesdropping.” He can hear what others are listening to, no matter the distance.

Muttered words, secret conversations, gossip behind closed doors, police investigation details—Aketo hears it all.

A month ago, a murder occurred in the town where Aketo lives. Being fond of mystery novels, he investigates the case out of curiosity. Then he meets Miriya Kujo, a fellow university student, and learns a shocking truth:

    “We’re being hunted.”

There exists a being known as a “Thief”—one who can steal the abilities of ability users by killing them. Miriya possesses an ability called “Detection,” allowing her to sense the presence of other ability users.

Can Aketo uncover the true identity of the Thief?

    ~GAMEPLAY~

Deduction × Supernatural Abilities (Reality × Unreality)

This novel game takes the fusion of these two concepts seriously. Unravel the truth behind the incidents, identify the culprit, and expose their motives through pure deductive reasoning. Engage in supernatural ability battles that defy all logic.

Your power: “Eavesdropping”—the ability to steal auditory information from anyone, regardless of distance.

Use this power to hunt down the “Thieves” targeting ability users.

While fantasy elements often complicate mystery narratives, this game has clear rules governing both the deductions and abilities involved.

If ordinary mystery novels and standard ability battles leave you wanting more, accept the challenge of LOOT—a novel game offering a fresh take on the detective mystery genre.

    Editorial Review

LOOT positions itself as a supernatural mystery thriller that weaponizes its protagonist’s extrasensory ability as a deduction mechanic—a smart inversion of the typical detective visual novel formula. Rather than gathering clues through conventional investigation, Aketo’s “eavesdropping” power becomes both narrative device and gameplay tool, letting him intercept conversations and secrets that would normally remain hidden. This approach feels fresher than the standard academy mystery landscape, which tends to rely on dialogue choices and item examination.

What makes LOOT distinctive is its commitment to the tension between reality and unreality. The setup involves ability users hunted by a supernatural predator called the Thief, which immediately elevates the stakes beyond a mundane campus whodunit. The pairing of Aketo and Miriya—whose Detection ability complements his eavesdropping—suggests the game intends genuine collaborative investigation rather than having one protagonist stumble through mysteries alone. The mystery framework appears designed to make his power feel essential to puzzle-solving, not just flavor text. The synopsis hints at multiple incidents to unravel rather than a single case, suggesting scope and layered complexity.

The supernatural thriller framing with academic setting appeals specifically to players who want their mysteries grounded in tangible character relationships and school hierarchies, but with genuine danger and paranoia running underneath. If you’re fatigued by cozy academy mysteries, the existential threat of the Thief promises actual narrative weight.

LOOT delivers the deduction-meets-superpowers concept seriously enough that it should satisfy players hungry for mystery visual novels that leverage their unique mechanics rather than treating them as window dressing.
