While Away on a Business Trip, My Wife… [KAZT]

While Away on a Business Trip, My Wife… sits squarely in the netorare (NTR) visual novel space, a subgenre that has grown increasingly sophisticated over the past decade. KAZT’s entry here follows the classic formula of the absent husband and the morally flexible wife, though the presence of multiple endings signals an attempt at branching narrative depth rather than straightforward cuckoldry fantasy.

What distinguishes this work is its structural ambition. The promise of three distinct endings immediately complicates the typical NTR power fantasy—suggesting player choice actually matters in determining whether Kumiko’s infidelity spirals or resolves. This is rarer in the adult game space than you’d expect, where most netorare works commit wholly to inevitability and escalation. The week-long business trip framing provides natural pacing for gradual relationship deterioration, and the explicit focus on Kumiko’s own desires (“she loves sex”) reframes infidelity as something more complicated than simple betrayal, which positions this closer to wife-sharing fantasy territory than pure NTR degradation.

The CG Gallery unlocking system and post-clear continuation feature suggest KAZT understands their audience values collection and replayability—pragmatic design choices that show respect for player time investment across multiple playthroughs to access different narrative branches.

Built on RPG Maker XP, the production values will be modest by current indie standards, though the engine choice reflects practical accessibility rather than technical limitation. Group sex and creampie content indicate explicit visual focus rather than narrative restraint.

Netorare enthusiasts specifically craving branching narrative choices and psychological complexity beyond simple inevitability will find Kumiko’s conflicted characterization worth exploring. Casual NTR fans seeking straightforward escalation might find the three-ending structure frustratingly restrained by comparison.

A competently executed NTR visual novel that prioritizes player agency in determining marital outcome.
