Editorial Review
Ketsuji 3.02 operates in the niche intersection of fighting game mechanics and ryona content, a space that demands genuine technical ambition to justify its existence. Most works in this subcategory default to static imagery or rudimentary turn-based systems; this title distinguishes itself through a hybrid structure combining AVG/SLG match gameplay with a dedicated RPG exploration mode, suggesting developers who understand that mechanical variety matters even in content-focused experiences.
The execution leverages 3D graphics and partial animations to create tangible combat sequences rather than relying on still imagery alone—a meaningful production choice that reinforces the fighting-game fantasy at the work’s core. Voice acting for three characters during matches adds performance texture that elevates immersion beyond typical silent-protagonist designs. The integration of 165 CG images across five distinct female characters (three martial artists, two bonus ninjas) provides reasonable content density, though the distinction between AVG story sequences and SLG battle systems suggests some unevenness in how narrative threads connect to the combat core.
The RPG component, built in RPG Maker XP, functions as a secondary content container offering resource gathering and exploration—practical padding that extends playtime but raises questions about whether it meaningfully expands the core ryona experience or simply stretches it across two mechanical paradigms. The requirement for RPG Maker XP RTP suggests this is a competent but not exceptional implementation of a secondary system.
This is targeted squarely at players seeking mechanical depth in their ryona experiences; specifically those who value combat simulation alongside degradation content and appreciate having exploration and inventory systems as auxiliary systems. The multiple endings and gallery functionality serve dedicated completionists.
For enthusiasts of combat-focused ryona who’ve exhausted simpler offerings and want something mechanically substantive, Ketsuji 3.02 delivers specific technical ambition, though the hybrid design’s success depends entirely on tolerance for divided mechanical focus.
