RISING FOOL [Armchair Detective Alan]

Home R18 Games RISING FOOL [Armchair Detective Alan]

    Synopsis

“Your choices will rewrite your knowledge.”

A brutal cyber dungeon spanning 100 floors. Your only tools are random upgrades found beyond each door and careful resource management.

A pure roguelike experience where you master fortune through skill.

Investigator Rokakku Mutsumi dives into the virtual world “B2” to unlock the functions of the BMI-type investigation support prototype ‘ADA.’ Challenging a massive maze with no equipment or abilities—you are the “Rising Fool,” ascending foolishly.

Ever-shifting situations, masked enemies, and deadly traps await. Can you navigate this “virtual hell” using only your wits and management skills?

    ■ GAMEPLAY

This is a 100-floor dungeon roguelike. Each floor presents 3 doors—choose one to progress through combat or events.

Turn-based combat: Select from Quick Strike, Power Strike, or Counter to face enemies. Matchup compatibility, stats, and limited ST management determine victory.

ST is consumed for exploration, combat, and skills. Decisions about where to fight and where to evade are crucial.

Defeat or depleted ST means game over; restart from floor 1.

Repeat the cycle: Door Selection → Combat/Event → Upgrade → Next Floor. Defeat the guardian on floor 100.

    Mouse-based selection controls.

    ■ DISTINCTIVE SYSTEMS

    1. “Tactical Triangle”: Rock-Paper-Scissors Psychology

Combat uses a Quick/Power/Counter structure. Quick beats Counter, Power beats Quick, Counter beats Power. When matchups are equal, pure Penetration Power determines victory. If equal, fate decides.

    2. Extreme “ST (Stamina) Management”

All actions—growth, combat, skill use—consume shared ST resource.

Combat Cost: Each action consumes ST. Prolonged battles make continued exploration difficult.

Equipment Weight: Stronger gear increases ST consumption per action.

Choose between heavy equipment for quick victory or light equipment for endurance.

    Editorial Review

Rising Fool slots neatly into the increasingly crowded cyberpunk roguelike space, but distinguishes itself through unusually rigorous resource economy design married to a female-led investigator narrative. Where many dungeon crawlers treat stamina as a peripheral system, this work makes ST management the actual game—every door choice, every turn of combat, every skill activation drains your most precious resource, forcing constant triage between exploration and engagement.

What sets this apart is the commitment to procedural consequence. The three-door structure per floor creates genuine choice architecture; paired with randomized upgrades and matchup-dependent turn-based combat, runs feel authentically distinct rather than recycled. The Rokakku Mutsumi protagonist adds narrative weight often absent from roguelikes—investigating a BMI prototype through a virtual “B2” maze grounds the mechanical grind in actual investigative purpose. The “Rising Fool” framing, where foolish ascension becomes the explicit hook, sidesteps the usual roguelike pretense toward mastery and leans into chaos management instead. Tags like tactical combat and turn-based strategy aren’t cosmetic here; they’re structural necessities when ST depletion forces you to recalibrate mid-run.

The 100-floor scope is substantial without feeling artificially padded, and the combination of masked enemies and deadly traps suggests environmental complexity beyond stat checks. The synopsis itself signals mechanical depth—”matchup compatibility” hints at rock-paper-scissors dynamics rather than simple number optimization.

This appeals directly to players fatigued by roguelikes that frontload decision-making and coast on momentum. Rising Fool respects your attention span and punishes autopilot thinking. If you thrive on constant micro-optimization and don’t need narrative handholding, this cyberpunk maze delivers relentless, thoughtful dungeon design where every door genuinely matters.
