Editorial Review
Tentacle yuri usually sits at the lighter, fantasy-driven end of the spectrum, so a dark, psychologically loaded take like this one stands out. It belongs to the niche where monster-girl premises are used for character drama rather than pure spectacle, and the “self-loathing” angle pushes it further toward bleak territory than most.
The central hook is the pairing. Yayoi is a tentacle girl passing as human, with a condition that means she can only be nourished through her tentacles, and she despises both that nature and Hazuki, the perpetually smiling classmate nicknamed “Saintess.” The tagline, “I am devouring the woman I hate most,” frames the encounter as resentment and hunger tangled together. Hazuki’s response is what makes the setup interesting: she accepts the assault calmly, and her smile never cracks. That unreadable composure, plus the hint of a secret behind it, gives the story a cat-and-mouse tension. The content warning for choking and violence signals that the roughness is part of the drama’s emotional register, not decoration. At 38 monochrome pages plus a color cover in B5 format, it is compact enough to keep the focus on that dynamic.
Readers who like dark, power-imbalanced yuri and enjoy broken or enigmatic heroines will find the most here, especially if they want tentacle themes with a character-driven spine. Those uncomfortable with violence or choking should steer clear.
For anyone who wants their tentacle yuri bitter and psychologically charged, this is a short, sharp study in hatred, hunger, and a smile that refuses to break.
