Editorial Review

★2.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

This is a straightforward illustration collection trading on Blue Archive’s established fanbase rather than attempting narrative innovation. Within the doujinshi illustration anthology space—a competitive category dominated by art books capitalizing on existing IP—this positions itself as a completionist’s resource rather than a curatorial statement.

The 80-page format and black-and-white presentation anchor this firmly in the functional illustration collection category. The work makes no pretense toward thematic curation or artistic commentary; instead, it operates as a straightforward gallery of character illustrations. For an illustration anthology, page count matters directly to perceived value, and 80 pages of monochrome work suggests substantial scope. The decision to work exclusively in black and white sidesteps color reproduction inconsistencies that plague lower-tier doujinshi collections, potentially delivering cleaner line work and better tonal control—a technical choice that signals production competence. That said, illustration anthologies live or die by artist consistency and selection quality, neither of which the synopsis directly confirms. A collection can be lengthy without being visually compelling if the illustrations lack technical polish or stylistic coherence.

Blue Archive’s player base represents a predictable but substantial audience for derivative works, particularly given the game’s character-driven design. Fans seeking concentrated visual appreciation of their favorite characters without narrative demand will find this model appeals directly to their collection habits.

The real question any potential reader must ask themselves: does 80 pages of black-and-white Blue Archive fan art justify shelf space? For dedicated collectors of Blue Archive doujinshi, the answer depends entirely on whether the artist selection here rises above typical fan-art quality. Without visual evidence in the synopsis, this reads as a reliable but unremarkable entry in an oversaturated category.

A competent collection for committed Blue Archive enthusiasts—nothing more, nothing less.
