    Editorial Review

★4.1 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

Adult RPGs in the doujin space tend to lean on well-worn fantasy kingdoms and dungeon crawls, so a story set inside a haunted arcade stands out as a conceit. The Arcade Story DX belongs to the compact, application-format RPG tier, where a tight premise matters more than sprawling content.

The setup is simple and clear: Hannah goes looking for her sister at the arcade where she works and ends up trapped in a strange dimension. A talking teddy bear tells her the truth lies at the top of a monster-filled elevator, which gives the game a built-in vertical structure. That “ascend floor by floor toward answers” framework suits the RPG tag well and suggests a steady rhythm of encounters and reveals. Production-wise, the Voice, Music, and Animation tags point to a more polished presentation than many bare-bones RPG Maker-style releases, and Hannah is voiced by 猫乃緒みみ, which gives the protagonist a consistent presence. Full Japanese and English support is a real convenience for international readers, since many comparable works skip localization entirely.

The synopsis stays minimal, so it’s hard to say how deep the mystery goes. Still, the arcade backdrop and the talking-plush guide hint at a playful, slightly uncanny tone rather than grim dark fantasy, which is a refreshing change of pace in the genre.

Players who enjoy compact RPGs with a quirky, nostalgic setting, and who value voiced protagonists and bilingual accessibility, will get the most out of it.

Verdict: a charming, concept-forward RPG that trades epic scale for atmosphere and polish, and a good pick for anyone tired of generic fantasy dungeons.
