Editorial Review
Honey Trap Amnesia sits in the temptation-and-fidelity corner of adult simulation, a space where the “devoted girlfriend versus persistent rivals” setup is a staple. Its amnesia hook gives that familiar tension a sturdier foundation than most.
The premise makes the protagonist an unreliable narrator of his own life. Because he can’t remember his girlfriend Kaede, every other woman’s “half-truths” carry real dramatic weight, and the player has to judge who is manipulating whom. The three rivals are drawn as distinct temptation archetypes rather than interchangeable alternatives. Iori Kurose is the graceful senior coworker with a quietly stalker-ish streak, Akari Hoshino is the petite, sister-like neighbor who weaponizes her innocence, and Nagisa Kitatani is the classmate who knows your weak points and likes being in control. Each applies a different kind of pressure, which should keep the pursuit from feeling repetitive. The Simulation, Music, and Animation tags suggest a more interactive, produced package than a static visual novel, and the English-language release makes it easy to approach. The synopsis cuts off before fully describing Nagisa, so some of her dynamic remains unclear.
Readers who enjoy slow-burn temptation, memory-loss mysteries, and the push and pull between a wholesome relationship and seductive alternatives will get the most from it, especially if they like female characters with sharply different personalities and approaches.
For anyone who wants a temptation story with real narrative stakes behind the flirtation, Honey Trap Amnesia is a well-conceived premise that turns the protagonist’s lost memories into the game’s central hook.
