    Editorial Review

★3.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

This is a tactical infiltration visual novel that slots into the increasingly crowded subgenre of “hero turned captive” scenarios, distinguished primarily by its commitment to voice acting, multilingual support, and what appears to be a hybrid gameplay loop combining narrative choice with resource management elements.

What sets *Holy Swords: Combatant Factory* apart from standard domination-focused titles is its framing mechanism: Ayane isn’t a passive victim but an active operative playing a long game, maintaining psychological resistance while gathering intelligence. The synopsis suggests genuine narrative tension between her surface submission and hidden agency—a dynamic that elevates this beyond pure degradation fantasy into something closer to psychological thriller territory. The specific threat of brainwashing, distinct from purely physical domination, indicates the developers are interested in mental compromise as the central conflict rather than body horror as an endpoint. The tentacle monster encounters, grounded in the “unruly” characterization, suggest combat encounters with consequences rather than scripted defeats.

The production quality markers are notable: full voice acting across multiple languages (Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English), original music, and application-based delivery all point to a mid-to-high budget independent release. This production investment typically correlates with more developed scenario writing and branching systems rather than linear kinetic novel structures.

The infiltration framework and mother/sister plot threads indicate this carries melodramatic spy-thriller DNA alongside its adult content, potentially offering players interested in narrative coherence something beyond isolated sexual encounters.

This appeals specifically to players who want their brainwashing and domination scenarios embedded in actual espionage plotting with a protagonist maintaining tactical cunning. The multilingual support and voice work distinguish it from text-heavy competitors, though whether the narrative payoff justifies its darker conceits depends entirely on execution quality.

A solidly-produced scenario that attempts genuine psychological texture within familiar territory.
