The English version includes one-button language switching functionality, allowing players to instantly toggle between English and original Japanese text during gameplay using the @ key or L3 button (customizable). This feature supports language learning and lets players compare translations seamlessly. Professional English translation by vgperson captures both emotional narrative moments and humorous item descriptions with precision. Note: Previously generated battle logs will not retroactively change language. The base game AbsentedAge2 is required to use this DLC. This product overlaps in content with the bundled English/Simplified Chinese version.

Editorial Review
Localization add-ons rarely get critical attention, but this English DLC for the ghost-girl roguelike action SRPG *Absented Age 2: Chapter of Vessel* deserves it. Doujin RPGs are still often locked to a single language, or get a machine-assisted translation tacked on afterward, so a dedicated patch built around a credited translator stands out in the Role-playing category. It isn’t a standalone game. It drops into the patches folder of the base release and unlocks the English content.
The headline feature is a one-button toggle between English and the original Japanese. Pressing the @ key or L3, both remappable, switches languages at any moment and can display a parallel translation. That turns the patch into a quiet language-learning tool, and I haven’t seen many doujin games treat bilingual reading as a built-in feature. The one caveat is that battle logs already generated won’t retroactively change language. The translation is credited to vgperson, and the synopsis promises both emotionally weighted story scenes and playful item-description wordplay. Those are the two places where localizations usually fall flat, so the claim is worth testing.
Buyers should read the fine print. The base game is required, and the content overlaps with both the original release and the English/Simplified Chinese DLC bundle, so double-purchasing is a real risk.
Tactical RPG fans who want to follow a roguelike SRPG’s story in polished English, and Japanese learners who like checking the source text against a translation, will get the most from it.
For players who don’t already own the bundle, this is a thoughtfully built English patch that doubles as a study aid.
