[Smartphone Version] Katagiri Wants to Rely on Me [DL Play Box Edition]

Editorial Review

★3.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

Katagiri Wants to Rely on Me lands squarely in the comedy-focused eroge space where horror-tinged supernatural scenarios provide cover for lighthearted sexual encounters. The genre positioning here is deliberately eclectic—mixing occult tropes with high school settings and physical comedy—which places it alongside other works that treat adult content as a vehicle for absurdist humor rather than narrative tension.

What distinguishes this title is its tonal commitment to treating the horror frame as comedic scaffolding. The presence of occult elements alongside school uniforms and large breasts suggests a work more interested in situational gags and character rapport than atmospheric dread. The groping tag combined with comedy indicates this leans toward consensual fumbling and embarrassment-based humor rather than genuinely transgressive scenarios. The reliance dynamic suggested by the title hints at a protagonist-centric structure where Katagiri’s neediness drives much of the interpersonal comedy, creating a foundation for physical encounters that emerge organically from character interaction rather than plot contrivance.

The smartphone-exclusive DL Play Box format is a practical consideration—streaming compatibility prioritizes accessibility over graphical ambition, suggesting developers prioritized writing and character work over visual showcase moments. This often correlates with stronger comedic timing and dialogue-driven pacing in doujin titles.

The tag combination of horror plus large breasts plus comedy is sufficiently rare in the current landscape to flag this as a deliberate stylistic choice rather than template-filling. Most adult games in the occult space trend either toward genuine psychological unease or pure fantasy adventure; this appears to occupy a self-aware middle ground.

This will resonate most with readers who find erotic comedy more engaging than erotic drama, and who appreciate when a game acknowledges the absurdity of its own premise. For that audience specifically, the unusual tonal mixture here justifies a look.
