Synopsis
Yumeko, the spirited and strong-willed daughter of a doctor in a small town, discovers a tall, shirtless young man bleeding and unconscious in the forest.
His name is Sainosuke. But he remembers nothing except his own name.
Unable to leave him, Yumeko brings him home to recover. As time passes, his memory never returns. With no behavioral issues, he eventually finds work as a carpenter in town.
Yumeko proposes they exchange letters as practice to teach the illiterate Sainosuke to read and write.
Watching him live earnestly despite his lost memories, Yumeko gradually finds herself drawn to him.
She invites him to the fireworks festival, and alone together at an inn, the distance between them closes rapidly—
But his instinctive movements suggest this is not his first time.
Where did he come from? How did he end up in that forest? Who is he really?

Editorial Review
[Riley’s Pick]
Walking on Thin Ice, For You weaves together the delicate threads of amnesia and historical romance to create something genuinely compelling. This character-driven narrative centers on rediscovering love through the haze of forgotten memories, a premise that allows for both emotional vulnerability and mystery-tinged intrigue. The amnesia angle here doesn’t feel like a cheap plot device—instead, it becomes the emotional core that forces characters to rebuild their connection from scratch, making every moment of rekindled affection feel earned and meaningful.
What makes this work particularly appealing is its commitment to pure love storytelling. There’s a refreshing sweetness here that prioritizes emotional connection over manufactured drama. The historical setting adds atmospheric depth, grounding the romance in a rich, tangible world that feels carefully constructed rather than merely decorative. As a character-driven piece, the work clearly invests in letting you understand who these people are, what they’ve lost, and what they might discover about themselves and each other.
The mystery elements layer nicely beneath the romance—you’re not just watching two people fall in love again, but uncovering fragments of their shared past. This combination of emotional storytelling with plot momentum makes for an engaging read that should satisfy readers seeking genuine romantic development rather than surface-level encounters. If you’re drawn to narratives where feelings matter and character growth is central to the experience, this is definitely worth exploring on Henhenta.
