    Editorial Review

★3.8 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

Ran Away From Home sits in the compact, story-driven corner of the English-language doujin market, where a small circle builds a short branching narrative around a familiar domestic-crisis setup. The Simulation and Application tags suggest a standalone, collect-and-unlock structure rather than a sprawling visual novel, and the creator-provided English description is a welcome sign in a space where localization is often an afterthought.

The premise is simple and effective: Ran has fled home for reasons the synopsis keeps back, and she shelters with her childhood friend Alex, only to find his large debt to the mafia waiting for her. That gives the story built-in tension and a believable reason for a cramped situation to turn volatile. The more interesting design choice is the ending structure. Players pick which person they are interested in to steer the outcome, across a “3 + 1” layout of Good, Bad, and NTR routes capped by a True Ending. Labeling the NTR branch openly is a considerate touch, since readers who want it can aim for it and those who don’t can steer clear. The CG collection goal adds replay incentive, and the Music tag hints that audio is meant to carry part of the atmosphere, though the description gives no specifics.

Readers who enjoy short, route-hopping stories with a menace-tinged setup, and who like seeing a tidy Good/Bad/NTR spread resolved by a True Ending, will get the most from it.

A lean, clearly signposted crisis drama that rewards players willing to chase every route.
