[ENG Ver.] J’s1

Editorial Review

★3.7 / 5 — henhenta editorial rating (our own assessment, not the DLsite official user score)

Gender-swap comedy has long been a staple of the doujin scene, but J’s1 sits in the lighter, R-15 corner of that space, where the premise drives gag-style situational humor rather than anything heavy. It’s closer to a slice-of-life sketch with a cheeky edge than to the more explicit transformation titles that dominate the category.

What sets it apart is the protagonist’s attitude. The typical genre arc is built on shock, denial, and a desperate search for a cure, but here a 30-year-old virgin turned girl “doesn’t give a damn” about getting the old body back and simply enjoys the new life. That removes the angst and lets the story run on breezy momentum. The setup is a routine walk to school with friends Lily and Nono that suddenly turns strange when something odd seems to be going on and the whole class starts undressing. It’s an absurdist, event-driven hook, and the “smol adventures” framing signals a playful, episodic series opener. The English release comes as JPEG images, a compact 30 story pages plus two covers, so it’s a quick read. Note that it overlaps with volume 6 of the same creator’s “Hajimemashita,” so completists should check for redundancy.

Readers who like cheerful, low-stakes transformation comedy with a self-assured protagonist, and who prefer suggestive humor to explicit content, will get the most out of it.

Verdict: a short, good-natured gender-swap gag piece that trades angst for attitude, best for fans of the creator’s world.
