Synopsis
Naoko Osawa, a 20-year-old working at a construction company, lives in an apartment with her friend Yuki Shono. Naoko has been conducting a secret affair with Mitamura, a section chief at work. They kept their relationship hidden at the office, but one day she is suddenly called in by her supervisor and confronted about their involvement. A female coworker had reported them.
On Monday, their designated date day, Mitamura tells Naoko that his wife has discovered their affair. He suggests they run away together and live as a couple. Naoko happily agrees. However, when she realizes his promises were mere words and he betrays her, she decides to quit her job.
Days later, Mitamura appears at her apartment asking for a place to stay. He is exhausted from embezzling company funds to cover his debts. Naoko gives him approximately 2 million yen that she had saved—money she pretends came from her father or was meant for her own wedding fund. She does this out of love for Mitamura.
