On February 23, 2004, G-bombs are simultaneously dropped on all Hives across the Eurasian continent, wiping out surface structures. Humanity’s last gambit, “Operation Babylon,” seems on the verge of success. However, the concentrated deployment of G-bombs triggers an unprecedented catastrophe—massive gravitational anomalies. The “Great Ocean Collapse” floods the Eurasian continent with seawater while dried oceans transform into salt deserts. Atmospheric pressure fluctuations devastate rear-guard territories, gravity anomalies destroy satellite networks, and mysterious ionospheric disturbances sever atmospheric communications. In June 2004, the BETA—thought eradicated and sunk in the deep sea—resurface before humanity once more.
