Synopsis
Kaoru Tsushima was once a model student at a prestigious high school, but dropped out under difficult circumstances. Now attending night school, he questions whether he truly wants to follow his parents’ path and become a doctor.
At night school, Tsushima encounters diverse people he never knew existed, opening his eyes to a wider world. An unexpected opportunity arises when a novel he submitted to a city writing contest catches the attention of Yagihara, a music production company president, who asks him to cover a band’s tour.
The band is Kacho-Fugetsu, once active on the major scene. Their leader, Zekiyoshi Hanai, is eccentric and dismisses music as worthless. Yet during Tsushima’s first live performance, he finds himself captivated by their music. Days later, he learns the band is disbanding. Frustrated and unable to convince Hanai to reconsider, the leader makes an unexpected proposal: ‘Kaoru, why don’t you try doing rock in my place?’
