●Story
In the world of “Grand Isles” composed of large islands, centered around the royal capital Freesia, there exist both “humans” and “demon-kin.” For ages, humans have discriminated against demon-kin based on appearance and ability. Though the current Freesia King has committed to reforming this evil practice with a coexistence policy, the roots of discrimination run deep.
In the trade city of Marigold within this world, a young girl is excitedly preparing for adventure. Her name is Lilia Flores. She became an adventurer to earn money to fulfill her dreams, exploring dungeons across the land in search of treasure. However, lacking exceptional physical ability or magical prowess, she has experienced nothing but failure. Determined that this time will be different, she heads to a dungeon rumored to house valuable magic stones.
Simultaneously in the royal capital Freesia, Sheryl—ace knight of the “Royal Knights” dedicated to demon-kin coexistence—receives orders to investigate recent disappearances of demon-kin. Suspicion falls on humans who harbor hatred for demon-kin and may be conducting abductions. Sheryl departs alone on her investigation, parting ways with her colleague and lover Roy.
Lilia arrives at the dungeon seeking magic stones and discovers a massive stone in its depths. However, she also uncovers a mysterious group conducting suspicious experiments on demon-kin. Discovered and attacked, she is saved by the investigating Sheryl. The group is led by Valis Bernardo, one of the “Executive Dukes” serving the king. Why would the king’s close aide do such a thing? Without answering, both are attacked by experimentally-enraged demon-kin and lose consciousness. Valis prepares to kill them but, upon seeing their bodies, a sinister smile crosses his face as he considers something…
