Synopsis

Akitsu Ren, the protagonist, lived a reclusive life in the countryside, abandoned by his parents. He endured his solitary days by writing fan fiction based on manga, novels, anime, and games. His works posted online gained notoriety—as superior counterfeits to the originals. Soon, Ren’s fan fiction earned him the nickname “Original Killer,” a title that shook the small world of online writing communities.

One fateful day, Ren meets Shiiomiya Ria, a young genius creator and busty high school ojou-sama actively working in the creative industry. Recognizing his talent, Ria invites him to live in the Shiiomiya estate and become her “Partner” (※1). Ren transfers to Tokiwa Art Academy, a school for aspiring creators.

At the academy, students in the Arts Department with strong creative abilities hold sway, while General Studies students face discrimination. Ren, unable to create original works due to certain circumstances, becomes isolated and scorned by his peers. Desperate, he enters the academy’s circle clubhouse. “Circles” are group activities composed of talented writers and Supporters (※2) who assist them. Not everyone must become a professional creator—editors, assistants, and patrons all have their place. Perhaps he can create again, if it’s for someone else.

Seeking a new belonging, Ren knocks on the door of a male-restricted circle filled entirely with creative girls.

※1 ‘Partner’: Even brilliant writers cannot shine alone. To continue fighting in the creative battlefield until death, they need a comrade to walk with them. This vow is deeper and heavier than romantic love.

※2 ‘Supporter’: While ‘Partners’ maintain equal relationships with creators, ‘Supporters’ assist in various ways from a subordinate position.
