One day, magic suddenly came into being. The phenomenon known as “magic” was not limited to a select few, but was officially named and announced by the government, becoming common knowledge to the general public. Magic is now harnessed as an energy resource and has permeated every sector of society. This “magic”—this superhuman ability—has become our new reality.

◆Era of Transition (12 Years Ago)

Government-led research into magic begins on an island where ‘magical elements’—the fundamental particles necessary to use magic—were first observed. Artificial islands are constructed around this central island, establishing the ‘Marine Magic Special Zone ‘ as a testing ground for magic research and operation. Early on, discrimination, conflict, and crime were rampant due to fear and confusion among those who suddenly awakened to these powers. Eventually, many people came to possess this ability.

Magic-applied technology is named ‘Magictronics.’ Agartha develops rapidly. Educational institutions for human resource development and various government sectors are established. Illegal magic users operating outside government control cause accidents and crimes that become a major social issue, prompting the government to establish the Police Bureau Security Division Magic Specialized Unit .

A major aviation accident involving magic-powered aircraft sparks public concern. Anti-magic factions and magic liberation advocates emerge. Despite growing anxiety, society continues to develop alongside Magictronics advancement.

Only those who pass official magic aptitude screenings may attend the national advanced magical academy. Students, BURST officers, and other authorized personnel are called ‘Casters’ and are bound by law to restrict their magic use. Those with magical aptitude who refuse registration and operate illegally are called ‘Outcasts,’ living disguised as ordinary citizens. While magic has become an established concept, even the government hasn’t fully grasped its complete nature.
