Synopsis

Shota Matsukaze lost his mother shortly after birth and was raised by his father, Raita. He has always longed for his mother, and sought to fill that void by seeing her image in Hitomi, a married woman living next door. However, his yearning for a maternal presence never faded.

Then Raita remarries and introduces Reina Fujinami, a young woman, as Shota’s new stepmother. Though anxious about being accepted, Reina is overflowing with maternal affection and dotes on Shota, who had been starved for motherly love. Her indulgence eventually leads her to allow the teenage Shota to nurse from her breasts daily. When Raita discovers this, he misunderstands and flies into a rage, expelling Shota from the house.

With nowhere to go, Shota finds refuge with Marika Fujinami, Reina’s older sister and his aunt by marriage, through Reina’s intervention. Though unrelated by blood and initially uncertain how to treat him, Marika gradually opens her heart to the desperate young man. Over the next two years, Shota settles comfortably into life with Marika, developing a close sibling-like bond.

When Reina visits to ask Shota to reconcile with his father and return home, he becomes conflicted. Marika, sensing his turmoil, tells him he doesn’t have to go back if he doesn’t want to. She declares she wants him to stay as her family. As the three navigate this unexpected situation, Marika insists she is Shota’s mother and will wait for him to decide.
