Synopsis
The Divine, the Warriors, and the Farmers—Medieval Eurodia is divided into these three.
The Kingdom of Lithvia is a nation in the central-east of Eurodia. Surrounded by neighboring powers, it has long been swayed by their influence. Even now, it faces pressure from two sides: the Minotaur Alliance inhabiting the vast Labyrinth Forest stretching from the northwest to the north, and the Kingdom of Almekia to the north.
In recent years, as land reclamation efforts expanded, conflicts between Lithvia and the Minotaurs increased. The creatures repeatedly raided villages and towns near the border. Two years ago, a massive military campaign to subjugate them ended in defeat. Even after a treaty, Minotaur incursions and plundering continue.
While there are calls to cooperate with the northern neighbor Almekia for another campaign, Almekia’s response is lukewarm. Almekia is a nation of the Holy Cross faith, while Lithvia follows the Eastern Cross. Almekia demands Lithvia’s conversion and the marriage of Lithvia’s queen to Almekia’s king—demands impossible to accept.
The constant raids deplete border forces, leaving national defense weakened. Queen Lithvia faces a choice: pay tribute to stop the Minotaur attacks, or strengthen her military. With a recent plague still affecting recruitment, the crown resorts to ordering monasteries to maintain their own defense forces.
