Synopsis

Makihishi Kikumaru has lived a fairly ordinary life surrounded by his tanuki-faced family—his younger sister and grandfather. However, everything changes when his grandfather suddenly passes away. At the wake, cat-eared commandos storm in firing machine guns, and his sister transforms into a ninja with tanuki ears. Confused and in danger, Kikumaru is saved by an ethereal cat-eared beauty who introduces herself as Fujika.

Fujika reveals shocking truths: “Subhuman” beings with different origins exist hidden throughout Japan. These creatures were active as ninja during the Warring States period and still operate in the shadows of modern society. Kikumaru’s family, the Saiga clan, has long served as a bridge between this hidden world and human society. And Kikumaru is already caught up in a succession dispute. “If you take this lightly, you’ll die,” she warns ominously.
