Synopsis

Rinko Takanashi. A high school student in Tokyo.

This year’s national women’s karate tournament champion, she’s become a master of karate known throughout the region.

But she’s lost her sense of purpose.

With no other female members in the karate club and male members no match for her skill, she finds herself at a crossroads.

Then one day, a club member hands her a flyer: “Recruiting Participants for Japan’s Underground Fighting Championship.”

It’s an anything-goes fighting tournament operating in the shadows, deliberately kept away from public scrutiny. Despite its underground nature, the event has gained a strong following among enthusiasts for its brutal intensity and high level of competition.

Feeling uneasy about the whole thing, Rinko nonetheless becomes motivated to compete. The club member who gave her the flyer smiles to himself, knowing more than he lets on.
