Synopsis
21st Century, Present Day――
Tomoru Henbutsu, the protagonist, has just started working at the mansion of the Tenma family, incomparably wealthy among the local area. By all rights, he should be a first-year student―his classmates are all attending school―but instead he chose to work as a live-in servant at the Tenma mansion. It wasn’t due to poor grades. Rather, there were circumstances that made working at the Tenma house necessary. Circumstances caused by his parents’ past actions, not his own.
Yet Tomoru doesn’t consider himself unfortunate. “Pitiful? I suppose… but honestly, I don’t think of myself that way.” In times like these, having steady work and a place to live is more than enough. Of course, the head of the Tenma household, Genichiro, speaks harshly to him―truthfully, it seems he dislikes him―but even so, he’s happy enough. The maid Shizuyo is frightening, the men in black are lively, and above all, Miss Seishiryuu is kind to him. If only Miss Yuria were here too, things would be even more fun. Yuria, Seishiryuu’s older sister, has been mysteriously missing for a month.
Then one day, an event occurs that changes Tomoru’s life forever. Like Mephistopheles himself, a demon with a pointed tail appears and presses him into a contract. In exchange for his soul, the demon will grant his wishes. But Tomoru is no Doctor Faustus. That voice, that gaze―it can only be that person he always sees.
