Another Queen DX vol.136 Natsume Misako

Editorial Review

The Another Queen DX franchise continues its formula of pairing gravure-adjacent idol photosets with competitive swimwear styling—a niche that’s quietly dominated the doujin photobook space by refusing to compete with mainstream gravure magazines on production budgets and instead leaning into specificity. Volume 136’s focus on Natsume Misako positions this squarely within the series’ comfortable wheelhouse: high-definition stills that prioritize pose variety and styling detail over narrative pretense.

What distinguishes this installment is the deliberate contrast between Misako’s “gentle smile” persona and the aggressive cut of high-leg competitive swimwear—a tension that the tagline plays up effectively. The pairing of toned musculature with pantyhose adds a layering strategy that’s become increasingly central to how these photosets construct visual interest. Rather than relying on a single costume or location, the competitive swimwear angle allows for the kind of pose-driven variety that makes browsing through a digital photoset feel less monotonous than its premise might suggest. The cyber café setting tag adds a casual domestic element that grounds the styling in something resembling narrative context, however thin.

This lands squarely for collectors who’ve already committed to the Another Queen ecosystem and appreciate the subtle refinements each volume introduces—different body types, different styling philosophies, different lighting approaches applied to a proven template. The exclusive distribution status carries its own appeal for completionists tracking the full franchise.

The production quality ceiling here is inherently limited by the doujin photobook format, but within that constraint, the HD specification and apparent attention to pose composition suggest competent execution. Neither revolutionary nor apologetic about its intentions, Another Queen DX vol.136 is reliable niche product for an established audience with clear, specific tastes.
