Synopsis
After five years of marriage to her kind husband Takuro, Akari feels their intimate life lacks passion despite their happiness. When a female friend suggests trying an affair, Akari reluctantly reaches out to Kitakawa, a former coworker, for a sexual encounter. The fresh experience ignites her desire, leading her to pursue her former boss next. As she continues her affair, her feelings gradually shift away from her husband. But when Takuro surprises her on their anniversary with his kindness, Akari realizes true happiness lies with him and her feelings return. Yet she discovers that happiness and sexual satisfaction are different things, and continues her physical relationship with Kitakawa.
This work by director Haruka Sachuo portrays the psychological fluctuations of a married woman caught between duty and desire. With 4K cinematography and a 122-minute runtime, it carefully builds tension as relationships deepen, creating an immersive narrative experience that balances emotional conflict with sensuality.
