【Story】

The protagonist unexpectedly becomes a member of an all-purpose information broker’s office. On the surface, it’s a Japanese-style bar run by the proprietress “Kōri Mura Miyabi” (Miyabi Mama), but it’s a gathering place for eccentric individuals—rival operatives, detectives, journalists, and the like. The office trades in information, conducts investigations for clients, and engages in detective work, making their living by buying and selling information they uncover independently.

Still a novice, the protagonist learns the ropes from a same-aged mentor, “Hibino Himari,” while being worked hard by senior “Todoroke Naomi.” Days are spent handling simple tasks like receiving information in back alleys or abandoned factories. Just as the protagonist becomes comfortable with the work, news arrives of a mysterious death involving a secretary at a major corporation…

After a period without major cases, the team has been handling mid-scale operations. When a familiar politician’s secretary visits with a request, they learn his highly educated son has fallen under the influence of a new religious cult in a provincial area and won’t come home. “Please bring my son back,” the secretary pleads.

Eager for their first major case in some time, the team members lean forward. Though harboring some unease, Miyabi agrees to take on the job…
