◎Common Route

Railroads are controlled by humanoid modules called Railroads. Hachiroku, the top-number model of the former Imperial Railway 8620 steam locomotive and its dedicated Railroad, was decommissioned due to a major railway closure and fell into a long slumber. When Soutetsu Migi, a railway accident survivor, accidentally awakens her, he joins forces with Hachiroku, his stepsister Hibi-hime the artist, and Paulette—the mayor and president of Michiyo Railway—to search for the missing 8620 steam locomotive and achieve their individual goals.

◎Paulette Route

To ease Paulette’s burden as both mayor and company president, Soutetsu begins supporting her policy initiatives. Aiming to realize Paulette’s vision of tourism revival through railways, he explores revitalizing the abandoned Jutsusen coal mine. He proposes establishing ‘Michiyo Mine Treasure’—a tourism theme park featuring interactive mining experiences and utilizing mined coal as fuel for steam locomotives. As training progresses with Kiha 07s and its dedicated Railroad Reina, Soutetsu discovers that maintenance issues could threaten tourism development. Kiha 07 repairs may change Reina’s current happiness—yet Paulette and Soutetsu work to overcome these fears and move forward together.
