Synopsis

21st century, modern day. Tomoru Henzutsu has just begun working at the mansion of the Tenma family, unparalleled wealthy magnates in the region. Normally a first-year student, while his classmates attend school, Tomoru works as a live-in servant without advancing to higher education. Not because he lacked academic ability—rather, circumstances forced him to work for the Tenma family. Circumstances caused by his parents’ past, not his own doing.

Yet Tomoru doesn’t consider himself unfortunate. “Pitiful? Is that so…? I don’t really think of myself that way.” In times like these, having steady work and a place to live is plenty. Of course, the Tenma household’s patriarch, Genichiro, speaks harshly to him—honestly, it seems he’s disliked—but even so, he’s happy enough. The maid Shizuyo is scary, the men in black are lively, and most importantly, Miss Seishiryu is kind. It would have been even more fun if Miss Yuria were here too. Seishiryu’s older sister, Miss Yuria, has been mysteriously missing for a month.

Then one day, an event that changes Tomoru’s life occurs. Like Mephistopheles himself, a pointy-tailed demon appears and urges a contract upon him, promising to grant his wishes in exchange for his soul. But Tomoru is no Doctor Faustus.
