Since humanity’s second world war, individuals with supernatural powers and inhuman appearances began appearing worldwide. Their abilities became known as “Anomalies,” and those who possessed them as “Anomaly Holders.”

Initially sympathetic, humanity grew fearful and hostile as their numbers increased. Anomaly Holders, in turn, began clashing with humanity—some defending themselves, others showcasing their power. This vicious cycle spawned riots and crimes globally, deepening the conflict between the two factions.

Japan was no exception. The government established a new peacekeeping force: the Special Assault Unit, comprised of both humans and Anomaly Holders. Commander Kashiwabi Ayato leads the newly-formed Division 2, working alongside his team to maintain order.

Years later, the unit’s successes reduced crime rates, bringing temporary peace. But a series of incidents triggered a surge in organized crime by Anomaly Holders, fueling public anxiety and government criticism.
