Synopsis
A vertical scrolling bullet-hell shooter with character growth and collection mechanics, featuring 7 stages (5+ levels per playthrough).
Choose from 6 difficulty levels ranging from “EASY” for shooting game beginners to “PANDEMONIUM” for hardcore players. Select between two gameplay systems at the start: the straightforward “C Equipment” for simple shoot-and-dodge gameplay, or “S Equipment” to master multiple weapons and carve your path to victory.
Repeatedly playing allows characters to gain experience and strengthen their stats. Aggressive gameplay also boosts your current session’s stats dynamically.
(Arcade fans can enjoy a fixed-stats game mode available at start)
Beyond the final boss that appears in normal progression, three hidden bosses exist in this game. Commonly called “True Bosses,” defeating them across all difficulty levels is an additional goal.

Editorial Review
STELLAVANITY positions itself in the increasingly crowded vertical scrolling bullet-hell space, but its dual-system approach and persistent progression mechanics suggest an attempt to bridge the gap between arcade purists and modern players seeking character investment. Where most contemporary shmups prioritize either classic mechanics or narrative depth, this work pursues both—though the execution will determine whether that ambition succeeds or dilutes its identity.
The standout feature here is the gameplay flexibility: the choice between “C Equipment” (streamlined shoot-and-dodge fundamentals) and “S Equipment” (multi-weapon mastery systems) at the start isn’t merely difficulty scaling—it’s architectural. Paired with six difficulty tiers from beginner-friendly to “PANDEMONIUM,” this creates genuine accessibility without hand-holding. The dynamic stat-boosting tied to aggressive play and the persistent character leveling across runs add progression hooks that echo modern roguelike design, making repeat playthroughs feel rewarding beyond score chasing. The presence of hidden “True Bosses” beyond normal-progression endpoints appeals to completionists and speedrunners alike. Seven stages with variable level counts per run also suggest reasonable replayability length.
The 6-character roster combined with collection mechanics hints at gacha-adjacent character unlock systems—common in Japanese indie shooters, and here positioned as a long-term engagement tool rather than immediate content.
This appeals most directly to shmup enthusiasts who’ve grown tired of pure arcade formalism but aren’t ready to abandon mechanical rigor, and to modern indie game players curious about bullet-hell design who need on-ramps to complexity. The demo-before-purchase warning is worth heeding; bullet-hell appeal is notoriously subjective, and the balance between its two systems determines whether it’s genuinely flexible or conceptually confused.
A technically grounded shmup that respects both arcade tradition and modern progression design, though execution remains the decisive factor.
